For walk characters, if you look at the large "boss sprites" they have an icon/symbol in front of them that allow them to be larger than the standard 48pix square. Just doesn't line up with default weapons though. I am using some large battlers in RPG MV and its ok. I have been attempting a few things on my own in GIMP but (probably because I have zero knowledge haha) have not found success.

Obviously, I know that I can't just drag and drop the image file into the "img>character" folder, because resizing needs to be done and, I'm assuming, I need to crop out some of the sprites that aren't needed. I'm not talking about making your own sprites from scratch, but importing one you've found from the Internet.
